Colorado leads the marketing charge

ColoradoGoogle-map-based real estate marketing tools are nothing new, but Colorado real estate brokers have combined all their resources (all 22 MLS services in Colorado) into one map that show every home listed with a realtor in Colorado! Wow. That is impressive.

Each listing comes with all the niceties you’ve come to expect from this type of system (photos, descriptions, nearby schools and shopping centers, etc.) and presents the material in a very intuitive way. I’ve been predicting that we’ll see more and more of this type of marketing. I firmly believe that eventually all MLS services will combine and present their information in this format.

Way to go, Colorado! This is a huge leap to help the consumer and an even greater step forward to keep the listing agents in the loop for selling their listings. I like what Hooray.com is trying to do in Utah and Idaho already (and it’s free), and just hope that the entire real estate industry sees the great value in this type of marketing. Goodby Realtor.com with its emphasis on only itself at the expense of listing agents and sellers.
