Michael Cook of Bloodhound blog has done a great piece on investing in real estate. His idea is that anytime is a good time to invest in real estate, if you are smart about how you do it and if you go in with your eyes open. He talks a lot about RE investing (buy and hold vs. flip, buying local vs. out of town, knowing your market, etc.) and there is something there for everyone to learn.
