Paying Less For Homes Than For Cars?

DeflateThat’s the way it is in Detroit. According to a Reuters report carried by MSN Real Estate, at least 16 homes that were for sale on Sunday went for $30K or less. Other homes went as low as $1,300! Can you imagine? Even if they built the home 50 years ago they had more than $1,300 in just lumber. It’s pathetic and it doesn’t seem to be improving. According to real estate agent Ron Walraven, “Once we’ve seen the last person leave Michigan, then I think we’ll be able to say we’ve seen the bottom.”

This one is worth reading, if only to remind you how good things really are where you live (unless, of course, you live in Detroit, in which case I’m sorry to rub it in.)
