I have to think (based on the comments we’ve recieved) that realtors think the media is picking on them. Whether they are or not is debatable. What’s not debatable is that we’re not the only ones getting the scrutiny.
What about the stock market? They get abused by the media every day. If the market is up, they say, “The market can’t sustain this. A bust (they say correction) is coming.” If the market is down, they say, “See we told you a bust was coming.” Only they don’t wait for months to make their prognostications like they do in real estate. At the first sign of a runny nose in the market, the “experts” are diagnosing a terminal illness with only days to live.
We’ve had our share of bad (mostly frustrating) news in real estate, but we don’t get abused nearly as badly as they do in the stock market. I think I’ll stay where I’m at. In another few months we’ll be below their radar again, and we won’t have to deal with it anymore. The stock market, on the other hand…
